My Story
Bsc. Science (Human Nutrition)
As a child, good nutrition was an afterthought. I ate anything and everything to balance my energy levels from playing basketball at an elite level. However, after suffering multiple injuries, had to stop playing all sport. My body was used to 6 meals a day and I began to gain weight and gradually became less and less fit. For a long time, I was unhappy, and I knew something had to change.
This led me to study nutrition at the University of Otago and after three years of study, earned my Bachelor of Science, majoring in Human Nutrition. Throughout those three years, I learned about good nutrition and balanced diets and in no time, was able to pick up volleyball and basketball again.
I love working with and helping people to live balanced, healthy lives and aim to improve their lifestyles both physically and mentally. The most important part of nutrition to me is not about eating “good” or “bad” foods but a balance of food without restriction. My goal is to together with my clients to create a culture where all body types are accepted and instead of aiming to only lose weight, we aim to maintain healthy habits.
I am excited to be at ONI where I can continue to learn alongside my clients and work with a wide range of people from many different backgrounds.
