Osteopathy in Wellington: ACC Registered Osteopath Craig Dalton Is Now at ONI
Osteopathy Is Now Available at ONI
We’re excited to share that osteopathy is now available at ONI in Wellington with ACC registered osteopath Craig Dalton.
For many people, the search for help starts with the problem, not the profession. You might be looking for help with back pain, neck pain, sports injuries, headaches, stiffness, restricted mobility, postural tension, or ongoing aches that do not seem to fully resolve. Osteopathy can be a strong option for exactly those kinds of issues.
This launch is also a special one for us because Craig is returning to ONI. Many of you may remember him from his time with us years ago as a sports massage therapist. He has now returned as an osteopath, and we’re very happy to welcome him back. Craig’s background spans engineering, massage therapy, musculoskeletal health, and osteopathy, which shapes a treatment style that is practical, hands-on, and focused on helping people make meaningful progress.
What does an osteopath help with?
Osteopathy is a hands-on treatment approach that looks at how your body is moving and functioning as a whole. Rather than only focusing on the sore area, osteopathic care often looks at the wider pattern: movement, posture, compensation, mobility, and the factors that may be contributing to pain or dysfunction. This whole-body, functional framing is common across Wellington osteopathy clinics and matches how Craig is positioned at ONI.
At ONI, osteopathy may be a good fit if you’re dealing with:
Back pain
Neck pain
Headaches
Stiffness and restricted mobility
Sports injuries
Postural pain from long hours sitting or desk work
Joint pain and general movement issues
Recurring aches and tension
Chronic pain or pain that keeps coming back
Osteopathy for injuries, pain, mobility, and rehabilitation
A lot of people are not necessarily searching for “osteopathy” first. They are searching for the thing they want help with — injury treatment, pain relief, rehabilitation, mobility, sports injury recovery, or posture-related pain.
That is why osteopathy can sit in a really useful space. It can help bridge the gap between pain relief, movement assessment, and rehabilitation.
At ONI, Craig’s approach is hands-on and active, using what he describes as a “treat as you assess” style. That means sessions are not just about temporary symptom relief. They are about understanding what is going on, improving movement where possible, and helping you move toward longer term change.
ACC osteopathy in Wellington
One of the biggest advantages of this service is that Craig is an ACC registered osteopath.
Being ACC registered means that if your issue is injury-related, Craig will lodge the ACC claim for you and take care of the process from there - keeping things simple so you can just focus on booking in and getting treated.
Meet Craig Dalton
Craig brings a unique background to osteopathy. Before becoming an osteopath, he worked for more than a decade as an engineer. After a lower back injury during martial arts training, he experienced the impact of hands-on treatment first-hand, retrained in remedial massage therapy in the UK, then later completed a Bachelor’s in Musculoskeletal Health and a Postgraduate Diploma in Osteopathy in New Zealand.
That mix of disciplines helps shape a treatment style that is both analytical and practical. Craig works with:
Sports injuries
Chronic back pain
Postural tension
Mobility issues
Older adults
Children
Infants
Who might benefit from osteopathy?
You may want to consider booking with an osteopath if:
Your back or neck keeps flaring up
You feel stiff, restricted, or uneven
You have headaches linked to tension or posture
You’ve picked up a sports injury
You’re recovering from an injury and want support with the ACC process
Your body does not feel like it’s moving as well as it should
You want treatment that looks at function and movement, not just symptoms
For some people, that might mean finally addressing a nagging issue they have put off for months. For others, it might mean getting help early so a smaller problem does not turn into a bigger one.
